Weather Estimated as — 8., Blue sky, be the atmosphere clear or heavy; C, Clouds. passing clouds; D., Dri__ling rain; F., Foggy; G., Gloomy, dark weather; H., Hail; L., Lightning; M., Misty; 0., Overcast, the whole sky covered with thick clouds; P., Passing showers; Q., Squally; R., Rain, continued rain; T., Thunder; S., Snow; U., Ugly, threatening appearance. Tho weather was fine all over the Dominion to-day, excepting at Grey mouth, where there were passing showers, and at Hokitika, where there was drizzling rain ; the 6ky Avas gloomy m the far south. STATE OF THE SEA. The sea was smooth at nearly all stations to-day, no rough weather being reported. There was a slight swell at Giaborne; it was moderate at Cape Maria, Kaipara, East Cape, Tauranga, Castlepoiiit, and Cape Foulwind, and smooth at' all other stations. ' WEATHER REPORT. Captain Edwin foretasted- to-day.— ''Southerly moderate to strong winds ; tides moderate; sea moderate; glass rise slowly."
