MINERS RESENT CLOSING DOWN OF MINES.
(Press Assn.— By Telegraph— Copyrigb*)I SYDNEY, Nov. 8. Tlie position of the Newcastle district miners uias reached an acute stage. At a meeting of the Northern Miners' Committee bTMknagempnt to-day, it was resolved: "That in view of the attitude of the proprietors in locking out members* of the Hebburn; ißuxWood, Lambton B, and Northumberland. lodges, alsp their attitude with regard to other grievances, we as a coinmittee recemmend that until such- disputes aro settled, wo refuse to assist/them to crush our fellow-riieri. We therefore refuse to continue working any longer; under the circumstances."
