Apropos to the potato market, a wellknown Dunedin agent said to-day, "t,he recent rairts .in Australia are having a somewhat depressing effect on th© potato market. Of course while the drought existed holders did not care to part with their stocks, but now rain hair come they are offering at fully £1 a ton lower. The North Island is fully stocked at present, and a large amount of selling is being attempted; in fact, a good deal of trouble Js expected from those who nave bought at high prices and are trying to get out of taking delivery.
