NAPIER DRAMATIC STUDENTS.
"Caste," which the Napier Dramatic Students will stage at His Majesty's theatre on S«ittti-day evening, is a play that the public always likes to see, .arid ifc still touches home with a s clear dramatic effect as the day it ay&& written. Its enduring qualities appear to He in a thiead of a ; plot built wp -with an al« most human touch. Tlie characters 1 a& dear-cut types of life and for this reaiy^l give scope for good 'acting. . -Above all; "Caste" is clean and wholesome jand ah audience is always the better. for , seeing it. Referrin,g to the initial performance at Napier, the Telegraph says : "The perfonnance given of the old comediy at the Theatre Royal last evening by the Nai pier Dramatic Students was distinctly pleasing, and the piece did not fail for lack of talented acting. The Students had the satisfaction of presenting , the comedy ta a large audience, and in.thil connection the result of their efforts fpjr the benefit nf the Napier Hospital •_% ufcj show good results. The characters "iit "Caste" are few, but each requires careful handling, and naturalness is. an irid)fipensable condition. In the performance given by the Students the different ' t>ar& were nicely placed." Owing to the ejriferieies of the steamer service the play call only be produced one night at Gisborite, and no time should be lost in bookintf seats. ■;- I ;.':-■■-
