AUCKLAND, last night. The executive of the Auckland Farmers' Union passed resolutions of strong disapproval of the form of the Land Laws Amendment Bill passed by the House, especially taking exception to the terms allowed l.up. tenants to convert to the freehold ; also against withholding the right of purohase on reasonable terms from tenants holding land acquired under the Land for Settlement Act. Strong opposition was also expressed to the present form of the Land Endowment Bill, and regret that the Ministry were influenced 'by a small section of the House antagonistic to rural interests. GORE last night. A fire broke out to-day whereby Wayte's dairy factory at Otamita was destroyed. A north-west gale was raging, and nothing" wag saved- About £50 worth of cheese (uninsured) was also deBtroyed. The factory was insured m the State office for £700. It is thought that a fcpark from the boiler, fire was blown amongst the firewood, and caused tWe disaster.
