' The Anglican Synod last night discussed tohungaism, and resolved, that this Synod views withi satisfaction the recent action, of the Government in the direction of the suppression of tohungaism, and for the Church to take a more aggressive action among tlie tribes specially affected by this evil. , One lay member declared that tohungaism was a religious movement, and should not be interfered with by the Government, Rua was a reformer, and should be won over and used as a Christian teacher: |The Cliurch should riot express its approval of religious persecution, hut should utilise the ministry of women more, and then many of the present difficulties would disappear.
