An arrangement has been made between the U.S and A.S.S. Company and the A. and A. Line to load conjointly at New York for New Zealand ports direct. Hitherto steamers of both these lines have called at several ports in Australia en route to New Zealand, and this new arrangement will be a considerable saving of time to New Zealand consignees. The Elvaston will be the steamer to inaugurate the new service. The sailings from New York will be monthly, and the ports of call in New Zealand will be Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin.
