It is said to equal cast-iron m streng..i, but is much more elastic. Alzen is ' superior because at does not rust as easily as does iron, and it takes a high polisti. "Besides being very strong, this new metal is capable of lilf-o-ut the mcst delicate 'lines and figures of, form m casting. *" "Nearly every thief or vagrant," said a detective giving evidence at tlie Supreme Court, at .Christchurch last week, '-carries a coupon book of photographic enlargements or something else."
