Light is at 4£d for Canterbury, and 4£d for North Island ; heavy, Canterbury 4d, North Island 3Jd; River Plate mutton 3|d, light 3£d. Heavy lamb is very firm, and in good demand for all descriptions. Supplies are increasing. Canterbury s|d, others 54d. Beef is a shade weaker. Hindquarters 3jsd, fores 3d". Butter is rather quiet. Transactions are very limited. Large supplies are coming forward. Choicest New Zealand is at 995, Danish Ills, Siberian 935, Irish 101s. Cheese Is dull. Buyers are holding back,, expecting prices to go lower. New Zealand 60s, Canadian white 565, colored 575. Hemp is quiet anl rather steadier. Good fair grade on spot is'at £35 10s, fair grade in the same position £30 10s ; fair current Manila on .spot £36 10s, July to September shipments, good fair Wellington £34 10s, fair grade £30. There is no alteration iri the cocksfoot seed market since last week. Wheat is firm. .'There is no supply of New Zealand wheat on hand. New Zealand oats : Market quiet ; small business doing. -Short (sparrowbiU), ex granary, on spot, per quarter of 3841bs> 26s ; Danish, ex granary on spot, per quarter of 3201b5, 235. New Zealand beans (new crop) 30s 665 per 5041b5. The market is steady and fair business doing. New Zealand peas (partridge) 40s per 5041b5, market dull, little business doing.
