- ♦— ..- (From our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this' day. The Council met yesterday afternoon after a week's adjournment. The- only business was consideration of the Hastings Reserve Bill, which was hung up because it was considered it gave the. Hastings*borough council too much power to exclude people from the reserve. The Council met and adjourned from time to time throughout the evening' waiting for the passage of the Imprest Supply Bill through the Lower. House. Ultimately it was received and put through all stages. "The sight of a Government cheque book and the prospect of a good time at hotels or on the racecourse, or of investment m the latest motor car, are sufficient for the majority of owners iri any native block to waive all consideration, and put their signature to purchase deeds.
