Members of the Kaiti-City Folball Club arc requested to attend at the Victoria Domain to-morrow morning, when the tcsim to journey to Napier will be finally selected. _ilr A. W. Kent, champion long distanco walker, is m town, and issues a challenge m another column. His records are : Wairoa to Napier (70 miles) m 15 hours, and Napier to Auckland (380 miles) m six days. At the* start of the latter race 2000 people saw him off. Our Napier correspondent telegraphs : I There was a good attendance at Messrs Hoadley's sale of the Wai estate, Nuhaka, but prices did not reach the reserve. A bid of £37,000 was received for the "block of 3361 acres, and £6800 for the -640 acre block, (but Iboth were passed m. The Government leasehold was held over. At a committee meeting held by the Poverty Bay Rowing Club, it was decided to postpone their annual Ehster social until a further date, the members of the drib not wishing their "fixture to clash with the one to be held on that date m aid of the Fountain Fund. Racing for Mr H. Sandlant's gold medal for sculling will commence at 9 o'clock to-morrow morning, the handicaps being posted m tlie shed. ______________
