Auckland, sailed 2 p.m., Mokoia, for Gisborne. One hundied and fifty passengers arrived from South by the s.s. Wimmera this morning. The New South Wales bowlers arrived at Rotorua on Thursday, and were entertained by the Rotorua Bowling Club. They did the lake trip yesterday. A special haka was arranged for Friday night at Wliakarewarewa. To-day they engage in a six-rinks match with the Rotorua club. Mr Robert Sloper, a well-known Amberley farmer of forty years' standing, died at midday on Tuesday last, at his residence, Glasnevin, from the result of an accident the previous Friday, caused by falling from the top of a dray load of sheaves whilst carting-m from Jus harvest field. During their visit to Waikaremoaiia (says the Wairou Guardian) Mr J. Hunter Brown, Captain Kennedy and his son, secured 46 trout, weighing 2361bs in .the lake. The fishing was intermittent, as the weather wis wet and boisterous. Captain Kennedy got five fish in the Waikare-ta-heke, averaging 31bs each. Three were brown and two rainbow trout.
