While watcliing the races at Palmerston North on Thursday, Mr Neil McLean, presidejnb of tjhe Wellington- Bowling Club, met Avith an accident. Tlie rail on the stand on which he was leaning gave way, and he fell a distance of about eight feeb on to a staircase., receiving a rather severe cut on the head, wluch had to be stitched up. Mr J. T. Lang, of Palmerston North, also fell at the same time, his injury being a bruised hip.
