LAND, FOR SETTLEMENT.
The Opotiki Guardian publishes the following particulars regarding the land to be offered at the next ballot for lands m that district: —
The Whitikau Block cousiets of 12,907 acres, divided* into 12 sections, and is described as all bush country. This block adjoins the Papamoa settlement, and the size- of the sections range from 580 to 1800 acres, several of the eections having nice river flats. The block is within 25 miles of. Opotiki. and is 11 miles from Motu township. The elevation is from 900 ft to 2500 ft above sea level.
The Tahora Block consists of 11,928 acres, divided into 11 sections, and is also described as all bush country. This block is situate /on the west bank of the Waioeka river, the sections ranging from 660 to 1760. acres, embracing the old nativo clearings at Maiaetai and Tahora. Some of these sections also contain vuluable river flats, .while the distance from Opotiki is 25 miles. The elevation" is from 300 ft to 2600 ft above sea level.
Tile Oamaru Block is the smallest, consisting of 4000 acres. It is all bush country and is situated on the east 'bank of the Waioeka river. The distance from Opotiki is 28i miles, and the elevation is from 460 ft to 2000 ft above sea level. This block 16 divided into three sections.
