The Chief Justice said he did not think the prisoner iutended to kill Prestidge, who lie stabbed with a pocket knife in a street quarrel, and spoke strongly against the drinking habit Francis Gordon Waddoll was found guilty of assault on S. Gilmer, and sentenced to eighteen ' mouths' imprisonment. WESTPpRT, this day. Edwin and Cecil Herring (aged 15 and 9), tlie brothers of Lily Herring, killed by a gunshot on Saturday, wero found last night. ' They became frightened, and ran away into the bush. It would now appear the girl was engaged in household duties, and accidentally knocked the guii down, and it exploded, killing her. The inquest Mas resumed to-day on Archibald McKay, who, Avith a follow worker named Anderson, died from the effects of poisoning at the cement works. McKay's wife said lie told her lie had been mixing some acid in a cask, burning the zinc off wire netting, and had inhaled the fumes.
