SYDNEY, May 14. Mackay, the cricketer, scpred two thousand and sixty-f our runs during the season, which constitutes a record". '
Noble, the cricketer, dealing with the cricket dispute, voices the opinion of the players. He says as the Board of Control recently tendered an invitation to the Marylebone Club to. send out a team .to Australia, which the Marylebone Club could not see its Way v to accept on account of it being a body unrepresentative of the cricket interests of the States, the players feel justified in accepting the invitation from the Mel* bourne Club to compete against a team introduced by that body. Their action was taken after due consideration and wish the belief that the Melbourne Club should have the support of all in each State interested in the welfare of inter* nationial crjeket. The players believe it will be acknowledged by the public that it is highly desirable in. the interests of Australian cricket that a representative English cricket team should be induced to visit Australia during the season.
