CHRISTCHURCH, this day % , The wceWy-SfficiaV review "of "the progress of the New Zealand International Exhibition states that a letter has been received from the Superintendent of Agriculture, Fiji, m which he informs the Commissioner that the Exhibition Committee is trying to arrange to send some natives as part of the Fijian exhibit. In response to numerous requests from various parts of New Zealand, arrangements have been made with two of the freezing companies to establish refrigerating machinery within the buildings, and to allot a certain space that will be available for exhibitors who are handling perishable goods. In addition to the space that will be m the hands of the Exhibition authorities, the two companies will also make displays on their own accord.

Preliminary entries are now being received for the band contest, which is being held m February, 1907, m connection with the Exhibition, and several were received during the past week. Dr. Wohlmann, balnealogist, m eliargo of the Ilbtorua Sanatorium, has been this week m Christen urch, making arrangements for a site on which to erect a model geyser and other representations of the thermal wonders of the colony. During the informal visit of inspection of the Exhibition buildings and grounds, his Excellency the Governor made some valuable suggestions to the Executive, principally those related to obviating discomfort and inconvenience to visitors. The suggestions referred to were very practical, "and steps arc being taken to give effect to them as far as possible.

The Space Committee has appointed a small Committee to assist the. Commissioners to allot the space. This practical work will be commenced at once, and m the course of ten days exhibitors will will be advised as to' the . allotments made them.
