The Tageblatt states : "Italy had better not forget that we Germans, come what may, are resolved to take the lead on the European Continent, or at least in Centrol Europe. Italy owes her union and independence mainly to German policy." Ic has transpired that Zanaida and Smoljamizof, recently sentenced for espionage at Leipzig, received two thousand pounds sterling annually for five years from the Russian Government.
