A message has been received from a line repairer at Hopetoun stating ho had found a swag, saddle, and bridle, near \ Jjeadacuttup river, and ultimately a I knocked-up horse and a man in a nude state, apparently dying of thirst. He gave him water and brought him and the horse to Hopetoun. The man gave the name of John Everett, 69 years of age, a ■ miner, travelling from Mount Ida to the Kandip goldh'elds. He had been three Hlays without water, and had burnt down a telegraph pole to enable him to cut the 1 wire, as a last resource to save his life.
