I have been married 11 years, and have a family of three. When I was 14 years of age I was attacked by rheumatic gout, caused by exposure while working m a swamp, and since then I have been laid up with the disorder every year — .sometimes twice or three times a year and for periods varying from three to 17 weeks. The nature of my work has ne-ce-sitated my travelling all over the country and this has often entailed additional expense m keeping two homes. In addition to that bad weather m winter, coupled with my illnesses, have caused me to lose much time. I have also had a good deal of illness m my family. When I married I was not iti debt, but since my marriage (from the causes I have already stated) I have gradually fallen behind. I have struggled on m the hope of being able to free myself from debt, but owing to pressure from certain of my creditors I 'have been forced to file. I regret that I can make no offer to my creditors." The meeting then adjourned sine die.
