WANGANUI, last night. The football match Auckland v. VVatiganui, played to-day, resulted in a victory for Wanganui by four points: („ goal from a mark) to nil, after a hardlought and even 1 game. Wanganui attacked for the major part of the first spell, in which Craig kicked a goal from a mark. In the second spell Auckland showed slightly better form. Near the close of the game Kiernau had a penalty kick in front of Wangdn_"s goal, but failed to convort, the game ending; amidst tremendous excitement, without further score. CHRISTCHURCH, last night. Tlie annual football match Wanganui Collegiate. School and Wellington College, played this afternoon, resulted in a win for Wanganui by six points (tries scored by E. Dive and Beckett) to nil. Playing with a- strong bireeze iu the first spell, Wanganui did not show their best form, and at half time no score was recorded. In the next spell Wanganui played a much brisker game, their forwards in particular making it too strong for Wellington.
