At the firemen's demonstration the hose hydrant and 1 union event resulted : Dunedin City, 60 s ec, 1; Grey, 62sec, 2; Masterton; 63sec. 3, Thames arid Caversham, 64sec, tied. In. the run-off Thames won, Hawera finished! sixth.
Dunedin have a strong lead m the aggregate. There is perfect Meather. Tlie coupling practice was won by New Plymouth. 41 1.5 sec ; Dannevirke, % 4l 2-5 sec, 2; Thames, 41 1-5 sec, 3; Timam, 43 1-5 sec, 4 ; Napier, 43 1-5 sec, 5.
