Another instance of canine sagacity has been brought under notice ail Batnurst (N.S.W.). A few. days ago three young children . aged two, four and seven years respectively, of Mr Frank- Twemlow, farmer, of Brisbane Valley, were playing about a waterhole. Tlie two eldest, Margaret and Laura, were paddling m the water Avhen a cattle dog t'liat was on the bank -commenced to growl and* bark. The children took no notice of it until suddenly a large snake came out of some rubbish and made for where the children were playing.
