NEW ZEALAND'S CREDIT.
FINANCIAL NEWS* CRITICISM.
Press Assn. — By Telegraph.— Copyright. (Received 9.34 a.m., August 25). LONDON, August 24. The. Financial News writes: — "With such creditable Budget results as were shown m the Financial Statement of July, New Zealand's credit should be excellent, and the pity is it was dragged m the mud through, the Midland railway scandal. When the colony effaces at one blow £700,000 of capital subscribed on a definite undertaking embodied m a New Zealand Act of Parliament, need Mr Seddon be surprised if other capitalists begin to doubt the good faith of the colony. Gibes at the money market and its prohibitive rates will be without result until he admits the good cause the market has m keeping New Zealand at a distance."
