Calleuder lias entered upon his duties as auditor of the Bank of New Zealand. Captain Hume, of tlie Permanent Artillery, Lyttelton, is about to be transferred to Wellington. He will be succeeded on his present station by Captain Wall, from Auckland, and Captain Pilkington, from Wellington, will fill the vacancy at Auckland. DUNEDIN. this day It. is understood that the Harbor Board pay £600 Jlo tho widow of Mr Josephs as compensation for the Heads fatality. Other claims are still unsettled. The' Dunedin Presbytery, „by 17 to 13, concurred m the (proposal to continue! negotiations with the Methodist Congrej Rational Church with a view to ultimato I union upon cases of doctrine and policy.
