Tristram, Commissary Archbishop of Canterbury, confirmed b'y the High Court, authorising extreme measures unless an injunction, was obeyed by a given date, a cleaa sweep was suddenly made, ' and a cartload of confessional boxes, crucifixes, statues and other illegal ornaments removed from the Church of the Annunciation, Brighton, by the successful petitioner and 40 men! The supplications of the ikuiis and protests of the clergymen were unavailing.
