A beautiful young heiress in America lias joined the Salvation Army, and has thrown herself so thoroughly into the work of that body that she is to be seen nightly at the corners of the streets taking a foremost part in the Army meetings. She is Miss Marion. Fergus Woolman, of Burlington, whose fortune is estimated to be £25,000, with another £25,000 awaiting her in future legacies. ' Miss Woolman became a Salvationist last August, but so quietly was her conversion that none outside her family knew of it until she suddenly appeared with the Army at one of their street meetings. Hex friends endeavored to persuade her not to continue her connection with the Army. But the heiress remained firm, and she made this concession to her mother— not to adopt the uniform of the Salvationists until a year had expired. Many other rich girls in Burlington are joiuing Miss Woolman, and parents have been holding indignation meetings.
