Plymouth 49 Invercargill ... 37 Captain Edwin telegraphed to-day: — "Strong to moderate .southerly winds ; glass rise; tides good; sea decreasing; •xpect frost." East Cape reported to-day :— b.W. fair wind; barometer, 30.16; thermometer, 46 ; fine ; rough sea." South to south-westerly winds were prevalent throughout the colony to-day, and the weather was of a dull nature. Heavy seas were running at Gisborne, Wanganui and Cape Campbell; smooth to moderate elsewhere.
