(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The second wool sale commenced, today. The catalogues embraced 4228 bales, wliich was considerably .m excess of the quantity put forward' at the previous sale. The. prices compared with last sale show an all-round advance of a farthing, while better-grown wools show an improvement of a halfpenny. .Halfbred realised s|d to B|d, fine crossbred s|d to 7d, coarse and medium crossbred 4£d to sid, log-stained and cotts 4d to 4£d, pieces 3£d to 4d, bellies up to 4|d. One lot of merino, not catalogued, realised 9d. Competition was keen throughout. TIMARU, this day. The second wool " sale of the season, opened this morning. Some 8776 bales were offered. There was a large attendance of buyers, representing Home and colonial mills. Competition was veiy keen for the coarser wools. The best piices were -. lOJd merino. 9vl halfbreds, 7£d three-quarter-bred. 6£d crossbred. Compared with the last Timaru sales merino declined %& per lb, halfbred id to id, and three-quarter-bred advanced £d to |d.
