The Italian barque Paola Marde, which left for Genoa early last month, has returned to port in a disabled and battered condition. She encountered terrific hurricanes off the coast of New Zealand. On March 21 si the boats were washed away and the bulwarks nad wheel-house destroyed. The steering gear was injured, the* sails lost, the forecastle flooded, and the men were two and a half days continuously at the pumps. The vessel marie back to Sydney as soon as the weal her moderated.
MELBOURNE, April 9
The A.U.S.N.'Company's fteamer Paroo, bound to Adelaide,went ashore at Point Lonsdaie, at the Heads, early this morning. She is in no present danger. Assistance has been sent.
SAN FRANCISCO, April 8,
The ship Flankistan, bound from Newcastle to San Francisco, took fire, and was abandoned in latitude 4.38 north and longitude 127 west. An . American schooner rescued all hands and landed them at San Francisco.
