Work on the widening of London Bridge will commence in a month or tw.o at most. A contract has been accepted at £95,484. Tub first thing that .will be done will be the construction of a temporary footway on each bide of the parapet, and it will take about six months toget this ready, so that at the time of the Coronation the ordinary., footway will still be available. The Act.of Parliament allows five years for* the completion of the work.- /The City authorities arc confident that they will get it through in> 18 months or two years.
