SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE.

The Union Company'B s.B. Moura (Captain Beaumont) arrived from Auckland shortly after 2 p.m. yesterday, and proceeded to Southern ports early m the evening. Gisborne passengers — Inward: Misses Lamb and McGrath; Mesdames Siddells and Rice ; Messrs Gillman, Minnie, Neale, Darby, Moore, Mate, Long, Harding, Des Barres, Duncan, Hogg, Macmillan, Silver, Greaves, Atkins, and Formar. Outwards: Misses McKinley, Danvers, and Kelly; Mesdames Elvidge and two children, Mahoney, Fitzell and infant ; Hon. Jas. Carroll ; Messrs Broad, Phelps, Cunningham, Elliott, Wheeler, Quigley, Ball, Collins, Clark, Jackson, Denneby, Hawkes, Kindburg and Jensen. The schooner Awanui (Captain Nicolas) arrived from Tairua late on Saturday afternoon, after a fortnight's absence, thus making a good trip. The captain reports , having received good despatch at the mills, no other vessels being there loading at the time. Sailed on Wednesday morning last at 9 a.m., rounded East Cape the following morning, and was off ' Tolaga, Bay at 1 o'clock. A heavy S.W. coming up, ran into Tolaga for shelter. On Friday evening a light- 3f . prevailed, and by the Waiapu, also bound to this port, received a tow seawaxds. Arrived here at 4 p.m. Saturday. In the early morning, when rounding East Cape, a brigantine was sighted bound northward. The cargo consists of a full ship of timber, consigned as follows : Cook County Council, 2596 feet; Kennedy, Evans and Co., 21,153 ft; Mackrell and Colley, 60,673 f t; to order, 500 ft. The Awanui returns to Tairua when discharged, another two trips being: made before the mills close down for the Christmas holidays. • - The schooner Aotea arrived from Auckland via coast this afternoon, and enters the river to-night. Captain Skinner reports: — Nov. 7, noon, sailed from Auckland; Bth, wind-bound at Mercury Island; 9th, left with hard S.Wt gale, anchored off Tauranga at dusk; 10th, sailed again, at 4 a.m., and beat across the Bay of Plenty, arriving at Torere at 10 p.m. ; 11th, landed Torere, .Omaio, Tekoha, Raukokou ; 12th, shipped cargo at Raukokou, arrived at Te Araroa- at 3 p.m. and landed, sailed 7 p.m.'; 13th, worked Awanui, Reporua, and Wharipoura, arrived Waipiro; 14th, worked Waipiro, and came on to Tokomaru, did not finish, owing to hard southerly, coming on; 15th, finished, and came on to Tolaga Bay, arriving at dark; 16th, landed cargo and shipped wool, %nd came on to Waihau; 17th, landed cargo and shipped wool, and came on to Pakarae ; 18th, landed cargo and shipped wool, leaving for Gisborne 10 a.m. , arriving here at 1 p.m. with a full cargo, general and wool, viz. : . 70 tons cargo, 200 empties, and 130 bales, wooL The Union Company's s.s. Te Anau leaves Wellington at 4 p.m. to-day, and arrives Wednesday morning. The? Union Company l^ s.s. Mararoa leaves Auckland at 2 p.m. to-morrow for Gisborne. - ■ The Union Company's s.s.
