[Mrs Kruger, it will be remembered, was left behind in the care of the British at Pretoria when her husband escaped from the Transvaal. The old lady has more than once testified to the kindness and courtesy she has received at tne hands of the English officers. She was given the opportunity of rejoining her husband, but a terror of the sea prevented her making the journey to Europe.]
