His Worship the Mayor having been approached on behalf of the Matawhero School Cadets, who had made all preparations for their projected trip to Chrislchurcli to take part m the jtoyal festivities there, and which was abandoned by die Defence Department, to-day telegraphed to the Hon. the Premier as follows : "Matawhero School Cadets forty strong anxious to go Christchurch m company of schoolmaster. Strongly urge you to give instructions to accept offer. Wire reply." The following reply has been received : "The Government accept offer of Matawhero Cadets. Put yourself m communication with Captain Loveday, Wellington. I told Hon Mr Carroll we would arrange steamer fare from Gisborne to Napier..— (Signed) Seddon.-"-
