THE MATAWHERO CADETS.
♦ TO PROCEED TO CHRISTCHURCH. His Worship the Mayor having been approached on behalf of the Matawhero School Cadets, who had made all preparations for their projected trip to Chrislchurcli to take part m the jtoyal festivities there, and which was abandoned by die Defence Department, to-day telegraphed to the Hon. the Premier as follows : "Matawhero School Cadets forty strong anxious to go Christchurch m company of schoolmaster. Strongly urge you to give instructions to accept offer. Wire reply." The following reply has been received : "The Government accept offer of Matawhero Cadets. Put yourself m communication with Captain Loveday, Wellington. I told Hon Mr Carroll we would arrange steamer fare from Gisborne to Napier..— (Signed) Seddon.-"-
