At the station addresses of welcome were given by the Mayor and .Premier. Mr Seddon stated that the Government had declined to entertain the suggestion by' the Imperial authorities that the Boer prisoners sliould be interned at Stewart Island. He announced that to-morrow Major Jowsey would be promoted to the rank of colonel. A short thanksgiving service, attended by the men, will be held m the Cathedral tomorrow. There will be luncheon and a conversazione.
