The j cross-examination of Ooningham by Mr Want lasted for a great , part of the day. At the conclusion of the examination, in reply to Mr Want's statement, that he would show to the judge and jury that this-" was a conspiracy, petitioner s»id . thiat- the letters alleged to have passed between him and respondent since the last trial, and which had been put in- as evidence, were forgeries. He ' would, . jhe said, prove forgery, perjury, seduction and very nearly murder.
