DEATH OF SIR J. R. DICKSON.

Kleotrio Telegraph - Copyright— United Press Association. . SYDNEY, Jan. 10. A special train conveying the remains of Sir J. R. Dicksc-n, late Federal Minister of Defence, iwjas despatched from here to Brisbane this afternoon, the members of the family accompanying the cortege. The members of the Federal Ministry, the Hon Mr See, representing the State Ministry, several members of the Queensland Ministry and Parliament, the Hon. J. Carroll, representing New Zealand, and a number of other local visitors followed the hearse to the station. The coffin was covered with beautiful wreaths, including several from the Commonwealth and State Governments. The Hon Mr Barton, on behalf of the Federal Ministry, sent a message to Miss Dickson condoling with the family, and expressing the great loss Australia had sustained. A message was also received from the Queensland Premier sympathising with the bereaved family' at Queensland's loss, and asking a place for a wreath on the coffin. It is intended to appoint a prominent Queenslander to represent the Commonwealth Parliament at the funeral. Sir J. R. Dickson will be buried on Saturday. The flags on the Government buildings are half-masted, and general regret ife expressed. BRISBANE, Jan. 10. Profound regret is expressed at Sir J. R. Dickson's death, and flags are everywhere half-masted.
