ROWING.
At a committee meetiiijj of the Gisborne Bowing Club last evbning it was decided to close the entries for the outrigged fours on Saturday next, and that the President's (Mr A- F. Kennedy's) trophies be allotted for the event. The races are to come off m about a month's time, over the mile course. _ : In answer to a communication received from the New Zealand Amateur" Rowing Association, 'with regard to forming local associations, after the style of local footbull unions, ft waa decided to inform the Gisborne delegate (Dr H. Pollen) that the Gisborne Club did not think it advisable, as it would mean additional expense without any extra benefits. The secretary was instructed to write to the Napier Rowing Club with reference, to the annual fixture, asking them to send their crews up at Easter if conveni- 1 ent, and also the number of crews likely to be coming. From word received from Auckland it is very probable that two or three of the clubs tip there would send crews down, if the Gisborne Club could see their way to giving a prize for a maiden or junior nice. It was decided to leave the matter to be settled by the general meeting next week, when, if the Club cannot see its way to give a prize, some of the members of "the committee expressed their willingness to make up a prize themselves.
