A meeting of those interested in the starting of a jam factory in the district was held at Makaraka on Saturday evening, but as there was only a small attendance it was decided to postpose it until Saturday next. It is suggested that the meeting should be held in town at about 1 p.m., ao that country people might hay« an opportunity of attending.
