CORRESPONDENCE.

"TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE."

(To thh EDrron or this Herald.)

Slß,— For the benefit of any of the electors who may be uncertain how to cast their votes permit me to offer an idea. Mr Filzßoy is a good man, Mr Carroll is a Rood man—" they are all honorable men. Why should we not have them both as our representatives in Parliament ? \on™J eav impossible; but not so Mr Editor. My idea is this : that wo should return Mr Fitzßoy in tho present contest ; Air Carroll will then as a matter of course be called to the Upper House. The Government could not overlook the services he has rendered to the cause of Liberalism, and it would be quite in keeping with their policy of filling the Legislative Council with the rejects of the people. And no one can deny that Mr Carroll •would make a far better Councillor than he does a member, for his calm judicial manner would serve in better stead in the revisory Chamber than in the House of party strife. He would also be a far better representative for the district in the Upper House than several of the legal nnd other luminaries who by their electioneering activity clearly show that they are angling for the situation. The district would bo well represented in Parliament by Mr Carroll and Mr Fitzßoy. My ticket therefore is-Mr C. A. Fitzßoy, first ; Hon. James Carroll, second ; Mr Charles Dunlop, nowhere.— l am, etc., Poverty Bay.
