[Per Press Association.] Napier, This day. Messrs Nelson Bros, have received the , following cable message from the Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company : ; "A further heavy fall in values of frozen meat market. Quotations : Best Canterbury, 3d ; Dunedin and Southland, 2jsd ; Napier and North Island, 2fd. Lamb, first quality, 3Jd : second, 3d." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., reports having held its usual monthly stock sale at the Matawhero yards on 2nd inst. The attendance was fairly large, und bidding for both sheep and cattle active, giving evidence of the fact that owing to the large area of bush land to come in this season, prices for all good lines of stock will touch high priceß during the coming autumn. Cattle : Our entry was a very email one, but what did come forward made good prices. Sheep : A good entry for this time of year. We yarded 1500 and sold all but one small pen of 35 ewes. The following are some quotations— Two-tooths, in wool, 8s 5d to 9s 6d ; shorn two-tooths, mixed sexes, a nice even line, sold at 8s 2d ; ewes and lambs, 8s 3d to 10s 3d, according to quality ; dry ewes, 6s, 7» b'd, 7s 9d, to 9s 2d, the latter lot being fairly well forward in condition ; shorn ewes, nearly mutton, Cs ; maiden ewes and wethers, mixed, brought 9s 6d. Our next sale will be held on 29th November.
