SHIPPING INTELLIGENCE.
The Huddart-Parker Co.'s s.s. Westralia left for Napier and Southern ports last night. Passengers — Outward : Meadames » Smith, White, Skeet and two children ; Misses Healy and Kiely ; Nessrs Marshall, Groom,- Smith; H.M. Smith, Gold-Smith,. Harris, Goodwin, Mackie, Garry, Pormain, , Cuttle, Bead, Lambert, and J. Clark. - The •Shaw-Savill Co.'s s.s. Mamari (Capt. McDonald) arrived at 2 o'clock this after- . noon from Auckland. Immediately on arrival the steamer began loading frozen mutton from. the Gisborne Freezing Works. The Union Co.'s s.s. Omapere is expected to arrive here from Auckland via Coast ports to-morrow, and, is advertised to leave tor-Napier and Wellington at 4 p.m. The Union Co.'s s.s. Tarawera leaves Wellington this afternoon, and is duo here early on Saturday morning. She goes on to Auckland and Sydney at 9 a.m. The Huddart-Parker steamer Westralia has been making splendid passages lately. Yesterday she arrived from Auckland in twenty-two hours. A contract has been made by Huddart, Parker and Co. with Messrs Gourlay Bros., ' of Dundee, for the construction of a new steamer similar to the Westralia, but rather larger, to run in connection with the Westralia in the intercolonial trade. The threermasted schooner Coquette arrived from Newcastle (which port she left on the 6th inst.) this afternoon. The Coquette has a full cargo of coals, consisting ; of 320 tons, which, is consigned to the Gas Company.
