In the Legislative Assembly Mr Lyne moved his censure motion in reference to the Luuknow strike, He strongly condemned the Minister of Mines' minute, which lie said outraged all precedents, attpnip|4ng to influence the Mining Warden. It Mas ;\ diabolical and cowardly outrage on all fair play and political decency. . Mr Reid replied. In a strong defence he said the Minister had honestly carried out the power placed in his hands, and the Government were willing to stand or fall on the issue fis tv the propriety of theniinuto. Thu debate adjourned, After Mr Lynes' snecuh the labor party held a caucus and unanimously decided to support the Government. The result is, therefore, a foregone conclusion. HOBART, Nov. 3. In the Legislative Assembly an amendment, on the no confidence motion, proposing that the construction of railway lines over which trouble arose be referred to the Crown Law olticors, was adopted by J7 to 10. A further amendment that this bp not taken as a vote of censure was adopted by 19 to 14. The Premier then adjourned the House. It is rumored that the Government will accept the first amendment as a vote of censure and resign. Sir Philip Tysh's constituents have asked him to resign the portfolio. He replied that ho would not desert the Premier in the present juncture.
