The interment of the remains of the late Lord Rosmead took place at Brompton cemetery. Wreaths wore placed on the coffin on behalf of the Governments of New Zealand and Cape Colony. In the municipal elections just completed the Liberals gained 65 and the Conservatives 31 seats. In the course of a speech at Manchester Lord Rosebery said Mr Chamberlain's proposal of an Imperial zollverein would make the Empire odious to working men and imperil colonial trade. The Russian Minister at Seoul, the capital of Corea, compelled the Corean Government to dismiss their English financial adviser, also the chief of Customs, and to appoint Russian officials in their places. PRETORIA, Nov. 2. PresidentKruger, adressing the Volksraad, spoke strongly against the abolition of the dynamite concession. CARACAS Nov. 2. A revolutionary plot has been discovered, which was intended to prevent the meeting of Congress. Five hundred persons have been arrested in connection with it. ST. JOHNS, Nov. 2. At a result of tho Newfoundland elections Sir Wm. White-way's Government has been completely defeated.
