[Peb Press Association. WANGANUI, To-day. The body of Samuel Henderson, a farmer of the inland district, was found in the river yesterday. WELLINGTON, To-day. A man named Canute Ohlsen committed suicide at the Lower Hutt by taking poison. He had been drinking and was in very low spirits. He had several wounds in his left wrist, evidently self-inflicted. Several clergymen were amongst the speakers at yesterday's mass meeting in sympathy with the locked out engineers at Home. AUCKLAND, To-day. Dr Marsack, who was appointed by the Government to inquire into and report on the sickneßß prevalent amongst the Natives at Ruatahuna and Maunga Pohatti, has returned to Rotorua after a fortnight's absence. Dr Marsack reports that the disease from which the Natives are suffering is influenza, hut the cause of deaths which have occurred is broncho pneumonia, which was brought about by the Natives immersing the influenza patients in a creek. He prescribed for those who were sick, and left a quantity of medicine with the Native school teachers at Te Whaiti and Galatea, together with instructions as to how to apply it. Richard Henry Keast, evangelist, was committed to trial on a charge of forging a letter signed "Lucy Aspin" for £2 and nttering the same for £1. In his evidence Mr Aspin said his daughter was engaged to Keast, who was promised she would get £3000 down on her wedding day.
