MINING FATALITY.

Auckland* to-day. A shocking accident occurred at tho Woodstock Company's mine, Paoroa, on Saturday, and as the result Patrick Wall, 20 years of age, was killed. Deceased with others waa employed blaßting, and having fired the fuses, they retired till the explosion occurred. One fuse did not explode with the: rest, so deceased, thinking he had not: spitted the charges effectively, went over to* it, but on reaching the spob the explosion took place. He received the full force in* the face and chest. One eye was blown out,, both arms reduoed to pulp, and a stone entered his chest and passed into his left, lung. Medical aid was summoned, but deceased died two hours later. At the iuqueitt to-day a verdict of accidental death w*» returned, no blade being attachsd to anyone.
