WAIAPU PROHIBITON LEAGUE.
, [To thb Editor of thb HekaiaX Sir,— With regard to the second line on the local option paper, those who don't wanb reduction at any price will of course croas it out, but moat of us are going to have it in for this reason : that if we just fall short of prohibition, and the second line is not crossed out, we oarry reduction, which means that with a prohibition Committee we can close nine houses in the electorate), and as nono of them have had convictions recorded against them since the last Act was passed, we should practically have a free hand as to which houses may bo closed. We should never dream of shutting up one house in. Ormond (as stated last night) and leaving the other. If we touched Ormond we should close both houses, and then Ormond would have prohibition. We should not olose on& house in Wairoa and leave the other two to. benefit. We should close all three and them Wairoa would get prohibition. Or, best of all, perhaps we could close all the houses is Gisborne, and tiisborne would get prohibition, except that, of course, until prohibition itself is Reamed in the electorate the whole* sale licenses would continue.
