But eveu since the weather broke the rainfall lilts been about, 4J inches below the average full for these months. Coupled with this moderate rainfall wa have had a genial temperature, the mean daily temperatnre for the half-year being ldeg above the average, while for the corresponding period of last year the mean daily temperature was 4deg below the average, and the rainfall 2SHS inches as compared with 16 - 86 inches this year. The full force of the meaning of a rise of sdeg in the mean daily temperature is not evident at first, but a comparison of the mean daily temperature mouth by mouth will make it more apparent. 1890. 1805.
