Australian Federation.
Melbourne, June 30. On behalf of New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, and Victoria, Mr t Turner expressed to Mr Nelson his most earnest desire that Queensland would adhere , to the arrangements at the Hohurt Con- ( ference in regard to the" election of Federal [ delegates by direct vote of the people instead £ of Parliament. He poiuts out that any variation from that method will weaken the , prestige of the Convention and imperil the achievement of Federation.
