The Australians began a match to day at Birmingham with an eleven representing the Midland Counties, composed of the following: Davidson, Porter, Attewell, Jones, Bainbridge, Hill, Quaiffe, Liiley, Gunn, Shrewsbury and Hulme. The weather is fine and the wicket in excellent condition. The attendance, however, is moderate. The Australians, who went in first, were all out for the small score of 138.
